Question: Should i close the door of my private room ?

I am Vietnamese . there are 3 people in my family : my mom , dad , and me . I am 22 years old now and i feel i should have more private space . i have my private room on 3rd and now i want to close the door when i want no one bother me or watch what i am doing . But my parents get angry and mad , not allow me to close that door . pls help my solve this problem , and how should i persuade my parents to understand my opinion . thanks

If you're 22, you probably shouldn't be living with your parents, but that's beside the point. Since you are an adult, you have plenty of right to close the door to your room. Try talking to your parents. Ask them why they won't allow to close your door. Try to persuade them that you are a grown adult and deserve your privacy. Other than that, I might start looking for apartments.

As long as you still live with your parents, you have no 'real' private place, they still believe they have the right to control you even if you are already an adult. you can probably talk to them about it. tell them that you're not doing some monkey business in there. just let them understand.
